Clorox Fresh Step and BUZZMEDIA Present “8 To Go,” Starring Heather McDonald

Everybody loves a good cat video – that’s why BUZZMEDIA and Clorox Fresh Step are working paw-in-paw this year to promote Fresh Step Litter’s first annual ‘Catdance Feline Film Festival.’

What is the Catdance Feline Film Festival? Think Sundance for Siamese. But don’t worry… all cat breeds are welcome at this celebration of famous felines and their most memorable viral videos.

As part of the festivities, Fresh Step is conducting a nationwide search for the best cat videos in the country and commissioning ten fresh feline videos of their own. Both the commissioned films and films by five finalists from the nationwide search will be screened at the inaugural Catdance Feline Film Festival presented by Fresh Step at the Fresh Step House during the Sundance Film Festival on January 19, 2013, in Park City, Utah.

CELEBUZZ EDITOR-IN-CHIEF WINS HONORS FOR BEST NEWS REPORT, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR AT NATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALISM AWARDS

BUZZMEDIA is proud to announce that Celebuzz Editor-in-Chief, Dylan Howard, was awarded three top honors at the fifth National Entertainment Journalism Awards on Sunday, November 18.

Held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, Howard was named investigative journalist of the year on all platforms for his report detailing how some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, were involved in an underground high-stakes poker scene, where tens of millions of dollars changed hands.

In bestowing the honor on Howard, the judges noted: “This sexy and troubling story of high-stakes poker by A-list stars was broken in the Star and RadarOnline by Dylan Howard, using sources inside the game as well as the FBI.”

Howard also won a top honor for his social media coverage of Whitney Houston’s February 2012 death.

Howard previously served as Senior Executive Editor at RadarOnline.com and Star before joining BUZZMEDIA as Editor-in-Chief at Celebuzz in March, 2012. RadarOnline.com is part of is a member of BUZZMEDIA.

The National Entertainment Journalism Awards, hosted by the Los Angeles Press Club, recognized the best in arts and entertainment reporting.

Two-time Academy Award winning actress Jane Fonda received the Club’s inaugural Visionary Award “for her tireless efforts to use her celebrity to improve the lives of others.” She was introduced at the event by her friend and colleague Robert Redford and Newsroom star Jeff Daniels.

Other big names who came out to celebrate journalism’s finest were Lily Tomlin, Sam Waterston and Melanie Griffith.

Heading into the ceremony, Howard led the field of any individual journalist with a total of six nominations. He was also a finalist in two other categories, including the coveted Entertainment Journalist of the Year, an award he previously won in 2011.

Howard was also a finalist in the Online News category, for Celebuzz’s April 2012 report that exposed the feud between Chevy Chase, star of the NBC comedy series Community, and show creator Dan Harmon.

CELEBUZZ EDITOR-IN-CHIEF NOMINATED FOR SIX NATIONAL ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALISM AWARDS

The Los Angeles Press Club’s fifth National Entertainment Journalism Awards will recognize the best in arts and entertainment reporting on November 18 at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.

Celebuzz’s report published in April 2012 that exposed the feud between Chevy Chase, star of the NBC comedy series Community, and show creator Dan Harmon is a finalist in the Online News category. The report was written by Howard, who has also been nominated for the coveted Entertainment Journalist of the Year award. He previously won this award in 2011.

Howard’s reporting of Whitney Houston’s death in February 2012 has also been nominated for a Social Media award. He was an authoritative source live-tweeting the news for Radar Online, a member of BUZZMEDIA Entertainment, from the Beverly Hilton Hotel to more than 10,000 followers, and became an expert on the story for television programs including HLN and FOX News. Additionally for Radar Online, Howard’s story on the death of actress Natalie Wood is a candidate in the Investigative category.

Howard has also been nominated for two awards in the Print and Investigative categories for his prior work as Senior Executive Editor at Star Magazine.

Buzzmaker Cassadee Pope gains traction and fans on THE VOICE!

Cassadee Pope is no stranger to the spotlight, but she’s reaching new heights as this soaring Buzzmaker has made it past the Knockout Rounds on this season of NBC’s The Voice!.  Our Buzzmaker first graced the world with her voice when she and her band Hey Monday toured with pop super stars Fall Out Boy and pop-punk bands All Time Low, The Academy Is, and The Cab.  However, Cassadee decided to embark on a solo career, having just finished her first solo acoustic tour and releasing a solo EP of songs written by her.  As she told us during the Blind Auditions, she was nervous about venturing off on her own.  She realized she had nothing to fear, though, when her rendition of Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn” attracted an astounding four-chair turnaround from Voice coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton!  While each coach praised her singing ability, she ultimately chose Blake Shelton, who naturally believed in her potential to become a superstar.
