Buzzmedia and BING present the Summer of Doing

Bing challenged Buzzmedia to create original content for their Summer of Doing program by creating videos around three diverse themes (RidING, JammING, and CompetING) while creating a unified thread throughout the series.  Buzzmedia then went on the hunt to find the most interesting, unique stories out there, the stories that people only hear by word-of-mouth.  We utilized these stories in an engaging video series that would not only showcase Bing’s impeccable search capabilities and the power of searching with friends but also create original branded content with a great storyline.  The merger of original programming with branded content blurs the line between editorial and advertising, which we believe, is the best branded experience out there.  To unify the series, we worked with MTV host Damien Fahey to guide our viewers through these unique worlds and help tell the story.

DOG SURFING
When tasked with creating content for the theme of RidING, we knew that we had an opportunity to find something different.  We searched everywhere from motocross to racecar drivers to even roller coaster engineering.  However, when we discovered Abbie Girl, we knew we had found our winner.  Ladies and gentleman, Buzzmedia and Bing are proud to present the Loew’s Surf Dog Competition.

US AIR GUITAR
While we had so much fun producing the dog surfing video, we wanted to challenge ourselves to not tell the same type of story twice for the next theme: JammING.  Working under the same mission to tell unique, unheard stories, our search started with pitching everything from band exposes to ukele artists to even people that make strawberry jam. Our search stopped, though, once his Airness, the great Bjorn Turoque and the electrifying Brock McRock, the host and competitor, respectively, of the US Air Guitar Championship.  Take a look at the video below, and may the rock be with you.

TOM SCHAAR
For our last video in our Summer of Doing series, we focused on the theme of CompetING, and found one of the best competitors in pro-skateboarding: Tom Schaar.  Damien Fahey met up with Schaar to talk about his whirlwind road to skateboarding fame.  Schaar completed his first 1080 on a skateboard, which in skateboarder world is three full revolutions. He is the only known person in the world to have landed such a trick on a skateboard.

Oh, and he’s just 12-years-old.

Since Fahey is no skateboarder, he challenged Schaar to a friendly competition in go-kart racing.  Check out the video below!
