HOLLYWOOD, CA — August 19, 2008 — Buzznet Inc., the media company focused on building active, engaged online communities around pop culture, today announced that Alan Citron has joined the company to spearhead Special Projects. Mr. Citron previously served as general manager of Time Warner’s TMZ.

In this newly created position, Mr. Citron will advise on business and editorial strategies to drive greater usage and revenue from the company’s offerings, which now reach over 30 million consumers a month.

Mr. Citron brings more than 25 years experience in Internet services, music, entertainment and journalism to Buzznet. TMZ.com is one of the most successful online content launches of all time. Prior to TMZ, he was senior vice president of marketing at Movielink, the online film pioneer that was a joint venture among Warner Bros. Studios, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, Sony Pictures Entertainment and MGM. In the music arena, Mr. Citron was the founding president of MusicNet. Before that, he was the founding president of Ticketmaster Online and chairman of Ticketmaster Multimedia. While there, he was also appointed President, USA Networks Interactive. Mr. Citron began his career at the Los Angeles Times where he served as assistant business editor for entertainment and a columnist for more than 12 years. He is a 1980 graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, with a BA in Communications.
